Every note on Netnoise follows the same few rules. They are here so you can judge the advice on its merits.
I write about what I have tested on real sites with real budgets, and I say so when something is secondhand or untested. If a result depended on a particular site or season, the note says that too.
The reader I have in mind is running the business and the marketing at the same time. That means plain language, numbers you can check in your own accounts, and an honest view of how long things take.
Netnoise has no affiliate links, no sponsored posts and no paid placements. Notes about ads and paid tools carry no commission links. Nobody can pay to be mentioned, or to be left out.
Search and ad platforms change often, so every note carries its publish date. When something stops being true I update the note or say plainly that it has aged.
If you spot a mistake, tell me on the contact page. Corrections are made in the note itself.
The archive goes back a long way and some early entries cover topics outside the current focus. They are being reviewed and rewritten over time.
